CLAREMONT — Samuel Garcia (20) of Montclair can’t get arrested enough in Claremont. On Tuesday, a 911 call at 7:06 AM gave immediate response to the 100 block of Brown Drive. A resident had found the suspect in her secure rear yard. The suspect fled on foot when he realized that the resident was at home.
Officers located the suspect, and arrested him for prowling, possession of a methamphetamine pipe, and tools (a drill, drill bit, and wrenches) believed to be stolen from the area.
Claremont Police reported that the same subject had been arrested on September 5th for stealing a chainsaw out of a backyard in the 500 block of south College Avenue. Possession of methamphetamine was added to his arrest record.
Edgar Reese, Claremont Police Commissioner, thanked the residents who assisted in the capture and arrest of this prowler. Both arrests were initiated by calls from residents. Reese announced, “The Police Department wants to express their appreciation for your cooperative effort in keeping your neighborhood safe!! ‘See Something. Say Something!’ ”
