Traffic Stop of Gang Member Yields Loaded Gun, High Capacity Magazine

FRESNO — On Friday, two FPD officers were on patrol in southwest Fresno. They came upon a car with a lighting violation and stopped the vehicle near Tupman Street and Lorena Avenue.
With four occupants in the vehicle, officers called for backup after discovering that some of them were on active probation.
Police had the four occupants exit the vehicle. Of the four, 19-year-old Laquentin Townsel had a loaded 9mm semi-automatic with 16 rounds of ammunition tucked inside the front of his pants and was arrested. He is a Lee Street gang member.
