SAN ANDREAS // On October 28th just before 6 PM, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the Oak Shadows Mobile Home Park after being alerted to a shooting incident.
There they learned that there’d been a domestic dispute between 66-year-old Carol Soares and an unidentified 50-year-old man, both residents of the park.
Witnesses at the scene recounted hearing a loud argument and then a single gunshot, which had apparently been the sound of Soares shooting the man through a doorway as he stood outside her mobile home. The two were apparently arguing over a vehicle.
The victim reportedly sustained “minor injuries to his face,” and “sought treatment at a local hospital on his own.”
Soares was arrested and booked for attempting murder and corporal injury. She is housed at the Calaveras County Jail on $2 million bond.
