MODESTO // On the afternoon of October 23rd, police responded to the 200 block of Rosemont Avenue to investigate reports of a shooting.
Witnesses claimed to have seen a suspect flee from the property “with a large caliber assault rifle.” The victim, identified as a 40-year-old man, appeared to have sustained a single gunshot wound to the foot. He was unable to provide any further information on his assailant.
Officers then conducted a sweep of the residence and ended up finding methamphetamine, fraudulent ID documents, and over 100 pounds of packaged marijuana.
Pursuant to these findings, 50-year-old Juan Rios Magana was arrested at the residence for “possession of a controlled substance for sale, child endangerment, forgery, destruction of evidence, possession of marijuana for sale, and using a minor to sell marijuana.”
Modesto PD notes that Rios’ 17-year-old son was also “cited for several drug offenses.”
