MADERA // This past weekend, an enforcement stop for a minor infraction led to the arrest of Kelvin Laparra.
When stopped on Ellis Street, near Austin Avenue, Laparra refused to get out of the car and locked himself — and his two passengers — in the car.
The officer who pulled Laparra over was able to open the side door so the passengers could get out, but Laparra had to be wrestled out of the car. Two officers sustained minor injuries during this altercation.
Laparra was arrested after officers found meth and a loaded firearm where he’d been sitting.
