Raul Torres Madriz and Edgar Ramos Sanchez
SAN JOSE — The San Jose Police Department has announced the arrest of two wanted suspects in the murders of 31-year-old Hugo Sanchez and 21-year-old Daniel Maldonado.
According to Sergeant Enrique Garcia, “On November 3, 2017, at approximately 8:30 AM Eastern Time, the U.S. Marshals Service with the assistance of the Pasco County Florida Sheriff’s Office took suspect Edgar Ramos Sanchez into custody at a residence in the City of Dade, Florida.”
Within the next hour after the successful arrest of Sanchez, Raul Torres Madriz was also taken into custody and booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail for felony murder.
The arrest stems from a shooting at a local restaurant that occurred on January 5, 2017. Garcia said, “On Thursday, January 5, 2017, at 7:44 PM, San Jose Police Officers were dispatched to La Mejor Taqueria, located at 2003 Story Road on a report of two people shot.”
During an argument, Sanchez and Maldonado had been gunned down outside the restaurant.
After following up on multiple leads, homicide detectives were able to learn the identity and location of each suspect, ending an eleven-month manhunt.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sergeant Mike Montonye or Detective Jason Tanner of the San Jose Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 408-277-5283.
