SANTA ROSA // Just before 6 PM on Tuesday, November 21, police arrived on the 2300 block of Corby Avenue after being alerted to a verbal argument between a man and a woman, during which the man was reportedly armed.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered that all involved parties had left.
Just before 9 PM that same evening, however, police were informed that the man was back, sitting in front of his car in front of the house. The officers returned to investigate, taking note that the windows appeared to be fogged and it was difficult to see inside, and soon found “a subject seated in the driver seat … that appeared to be passed out.”
When he eventually woke up, after multiple attempts to rouse him, he began to get out of the car but sat back down. He reportedly did this multiple times until finally, given his behavior and the possibility that he was armed, a K9 unit was brought in to remove him.
Luis Ramon Estrada was treated for injuries related to his apprehension before being booked into Sonoma County Jail for misdemeanor obstructing or resisting an officer.
Santa Rosa PD reports that a shotgun was indeed found in the back seat, but was not loaded.
