RIVERSIDE – State Parole officers were aware that 43-year-old Anaheim resident Gabriel Vasquez had removed his court-mandated GPS ankle monitoring device.
On Friday at 4:30 officers went to Vasquez’ residence in the 1700 block of Main Street. As they approached, they spotted the suspect in the driveway.
Vasquez immediately took off to the back of his residence and onto Fremont Elementary School.
With the assistance of air support and K-9 officer Rocco, the suspect was apprehended as he hid in some thick brush nearby. He was charged with parole violation and resisting arrest. After a stop by the local hospital, he was booked into jail.
