CALEXICO – Multiple search warrants were executed on November 30 at businesses in Calexico under the name “Operation Dead Ringer.”

The purpose of the sting was to investigate “the sale, manufacture, distribution, importation, and purchase of counterfeit products, trademarks, logos and designs.”
Investigators targeted businesses purportedly involved in this illicit activity.
8,000 items were seized with an estimated retail value of $3 million. These items included handbags, wallets, belts, scarves, sunglasses, watches, backpacks, jewlery and makeup.
Operation Dead Ringer
The counterfeited name brands included Burberry, Chanel, Nike, Adidas, Vans, Jordan, Ray Ban, Louis Vuitton, Rolex, Gucci, Cartier, Prada and others.
The ICSO has yet to release the names of any suspects or specific charges yet to be filed.
