DIXON // A 37-year-old Dixon man is in jail on charges of felony domestic battery, false imprisonment, and resisting arrest after police traced the location of a missing woman to the 7800 block of Schroeder Road.
On December 11th just after 10 AM, police were called upon to conduct a welfare check on a woman who’d recently been missing from work.
Officers also received information suggesting she may be a victim of domestic violence, and she was entered into the Missing Persons system after attempts to locate her at multiple locations throughout the city came up empty.
It wasn’t long, however, before officers learned of her possible whereabouts — and that she may have been held against her will.
Police responded to the 7800 block of Schroeder Road, where they discovered a vehicle matching the description of one in which the victim was allegedly being held. When officers tried to speak with the victim and suspect, the suspect tried to drive away. He was promptly blocked in by police cars.
A brief standoff followed with the suspect physically holding the victim in the vehicle. The victim was eventually able to safely get out of the car, but the suspect remained inside until officers removed him by force.
Jose Manual Torres Jr. of Dixon is now in custody at the Solano County Jail on the above charges.
