SAN JOAQUIN – A home invasion incident occurred early on December 23 on the 11000 block of E. Highway 26.
A man who lives with his two elderly parents was confronted by a man and woman inside the home, and they demanded money from him. They began beating him with a wooden pole.
As the victim fought back, one of the suspects produced a revolver. As the struggle ensued, the victim gained control of the gun and shot the female suspect in the leg.
27-year-old Joshua Kearmohuli and 34-year-old Alicia Agundez were arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, conspiracy, home invasion and other weapons charges.
Agundez’ injuries were listed as serious but not life-threatening. The same charges will officially be filed against her once she is discharged from the hospital.
