Sheriff’s Department investigating suspicious death in Modesto

MODESTO // The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a suspicious death after a body was found near the Modesto Irrigation District power station on December 28th.
Just before 4:30 PM, two boys discovered an unidentified man in the bushes who appeared to be unresponsive and notified police. Emergency medical personnel also responded and, unfortunately, pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The area turned out to be under the jurisdiction of the Sheriff’s Office, who assumed the investigation and sent deputies to the scene.
The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine the man’s identity and the circumstances surrounding his death.
