EUREKA // As of January 9th of this year, 28-year-old Angela Lockwood has been arrested on an outstanding felony warrant pursuant to a previous narcotics investigation in Humboldt County.
Special Agents with the Humboldt County Drug Task Force spotted Lockwood driving in Eureka just before 5 PM and promptly requested assistance from Eureka PD, who responded to assist with conducting a traffic stop.
Rather than complying, Lockwood fled, at which point Eureka PD began a pursuit that went from surface streets in Eureka all the way to southbound Highway 101, at times reaching speeds of 90 MPH. Lockwood eventually exited the freeway at Fields Landing and abandoned her vehicle, opting to flee on foot.
With the help of a Eureka PD K-9 officer, police found Lockwood hiding in the backyard of a nearby home and placed her under arrest. She is charged with her outstanding warrant as well as “fleeing in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic for sale, and transportation of a narcotic.”
A search of the vehicle she was driving turned up “10 Dilaudid pills, approximately 100 grams of suspected methamphetamine and approximately 143 grams of suspected heroin.” The drugs were found inside a purse, which also contained a digital scale, packaging materials, and Lockwood’s ID.
