Big Bear Sheriffs Department Announces Arrest of Wanted Felon Brandon Kegley and His Driver
BIG BEAR LAKE — Big Bear Sheriff’s Department announced yesterday the extensive search and arrest of wanted felon Brandon Kegley (30) of Sugarloaf.
A reported sighting of the wanted suspect with an active warrant had been reportedly issued “by the United States Marshal’s Office for violation of federal probation terms and conditions stemming from a prior conviction of being a felon in possession of a weapon,” sent responding deputies to the 200 block of Vista Avenue in Sugarloaf on January 20th at 10:20 PM.
Kegley left the scene, spurring a ground search of the area and aerial coverage by the Sheriff’s Aviation Division. Deputies spotted Kegley in the passenger seat of a vehicle driving through Irwin Lake.
Reports stated, “During a traffic stop, Kegley fled on foot into the surrounding residential neighborhood. After tracking the area in light snow and mud, deputies found Kegley hiding under a deck at a residence approximately one mile from the traffic stop.”
Deployed deputies contacted the driver, Holly Martineau (36) of Big Bear City, who was in possession of heroin and illegal narcotics sales’ packaging and paraphernalia.
Deputies announced, “Kegley and Martineau were taken into custody without further incident and booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of possession of narcotics for sale and bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility. They remain in custody at West Valley Detention Center, pending a court hearing scheduled for January 31st in San Bernardino County Superior Court.”
Kegley will then be surrendered into the custody of the US Marshal’s Service.
