RED BLUFF // Investigators from the Red Bluff Police Department have arrested a couple for felony child abuse after their 26-day-old daughter was admitted to hospital for a broken arm.
On January 10th just after 1:30 PM, officers arrived at St. Elizabeth’s Community Hospital to investigate a suspected case of child abuse. There they were informed of a 26-day-old infant girl who’d been brought in with a fractured humerus.
Red Bluff PD investigators and members of Tehama County Child Protective Services began an investigation in earnest, during which they learned that the girl’s mother, 28-year-old Jessica Trimble, was responsible for the injury. Additionally, the woman and her husband, 31-year-old Kenneth Keverline, were aware the child had been injured and did not seek medical attention until the next day.
The child has since been placed into protective custody. She is reportedly in stable condition.
Trimble and Keverline have both been arrested and booked into the Tehama County Jail on charges of child abuse and conspiracy, with each being held on $50,000 bail.
