TULARE — On August 8, 2014, Cristian Renetria and some of his friends were walking near Merritt and Denair and came upon a house, where he proceeded to fire shots at it. He also fired shots at another house nearby where dogs were barking.
Although no one was injured by his actions, one bullet did hit a flat screen TV in the home.
Five days later he was arrested with the help of witness accounts of his actions.
On Thursday, Renteria was sentenced to 46 years to life in prison. He was found guilty of two counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling. His charges included the special allegation of personal discharge of a firearm and participating in a criminal street gang.
Renteria had been found guilty on December 11 of last year.
