SAN JOSE – The San Jose Police Department responded to a shooting just after 2:28 AM on Tuesday, February 6, 2018. According to Sgt. Enrique Garcia, “San Jose police officers responded to a person shot in the 300 block of Keyes.” When patrolling officers arrived on scene, they found an unknown male victim dead from multiple gunshot wounds.
This marked the city’s fifth homicide of the year.
Canvassing the area for witnesses and other possible victims, several individuals were able to identify a possible vehicle used in the shooting. Patrolling units circled the area and located a vehicle matching the description given by witnesses at the scene. San Jose patrol units were able to detain two individuals, eventually arresting a 17-year-old juvenile suspected in the shooting.
