COLUSA // The County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two suspects for attempted murder after a gunshot victim showed up at the Colusa Casino seeking help.
On February 6th just before 9 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the casino, joined later by detectives and Colusa County Task Force officials, and learned that the victim had driven himself to the casino after a shooting at the south end of Traditional Way. He was then transported to Rideout Memorial Hospital for treatment. His condition is reportedly stable.
Investigators who traveled out to the scene were able to locate evidence corroborating the incident. Sheriff’s Office officials, Task Force agents, Colusa PD officers, and CHP officers all joined the investigation, setting up a perimeter and pinning down a description of the suspect’s truck.
A CHP helicopter was also brought in, which allowed authorities to quickly locate the truck at a home northwest of the casino. At that point, the Colusa County S.O.A.R. Team attempted to make contact with the suspect.
After a short foot pursuit, 33-year-old Ysidro Chico Arismendez was arrested along with an additional suspect — identified as 20-year-old Shantrice Nicole Moon-Gomez — who was also found at the residence.
Both have been charged with attempted murder, assault with a firearm, criminal conspiracy, and robbery. Arismendez is additionally charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance.
