SHERMAN OAKS – On January 31st, 25-year-old Gustavo Aranda carjacked a vehicle as its driver was getting out of his car. He then proceeded to rob a second victim, and then entered a nail salon and attacked both an employee and two of the customers.
Aranda’s rampage was ended by “good Samaritans,” who stopped him and then detained him until the police arrived.
The suspect has been charged with carjacking, second-degree robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and vandalism over $400. He pleaded not guilty.
His case will continue on February 16 and remains under investigation. A guilty conviction could net more than 12 years in prison.
