SAN JOSE — The San Jose Police Department is investigating the murder of a female victim who had filed a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend.
According to police 42-year-old, Timoteo Morales, shot and killed his ex-girlfriend outside the Denny’s restaurant located on the 1300 block of S. 1st Street in San Jose. The shooting occurred just after 10:50 PM. The shooting death marked the city’s fourth homicide of the year.
According to San Jose Police Officer Gina Tepoorten, “Arriving officers located a male and female suffering from at least one gunshot wound each.” Both the suspect and victim died from single gunshot wounds fired by the suspect. Emergency crews responding to the scene were unable to help both the suspect and the victim due to the severity of their injuries.
Witnesses at the scene were able to describe how Morales had confronted his ex-girlfriend near the side parking lot near the pathway leading away from the restaurant. After killing his ex-girlfriend, he then turned the gun on himself. Tepoorten said, “Follow-up investigation by homicide detectives revealed the victim had a protective order against suspect Timoteo Morales.”
