HEMET – Early on Friday evening the Hemet PD received a call about a male victim who had been stabbed in the neck. Officers responded to a convenience store in the 200 block of East Stetson Avenue.
Soon after, other calls came into the HPD concerning another male victim with stab wounds, this time in the 1000 block of South Gilbert Street. This location was about one block west of the initial call.
Officers finally caught up with the victim, who was taken to the hospital and listed in stable condition.
Investigators, with the help of surveillance footage at the convenience store, were able to identify a suspect. 36-year-old Cole Butts was arrested at a residence in the 400 block of East Thornton Avenue.
Butts is charged with attempted murder and his bail was set at $1 million.
