DAVIS // Police have announced that a woman initially cited for drunk driving has since been connected to a vehicle theft out of Sacramento.
On February 9th shortly before 1 AM, police arrived at an AM/PM to speak with a woman who’d been reported as a possible drunk driver. As it turned out, she was not the vehicle’s owner and was subsequently released on citation. She left the scene on foot. The car, a Lexus, was towed due to its registration being 6 months expired.
Then, just two hours later, the actual owner of the Lexus called from Sacramento to report that it had been stolen earlier that night. Attempts to relocate the driver proved unsuccessful.
The next morning, February 10th, police arrived at an apartment complex on Alvarado Avenue to investigate a trespassing call and, lo and behold, found that the subject in question was none other than their mysterious Lexus driver.
She has since been arrested. At the time of the arrest, she was reportedly in possession of a black Raleigh Cadent bicycle, who is also believed to have been stolen.
