Gang Detail Partnership Arrests Gang Member and Minor with Guns
POMONA – The Pomona Police Department’s Major Crimes Task Force (MCTF) and the San Gabriel Valley East AB-109 Task Force’s combined gang suppression detail arrested Angel Arrellano (19) of Pomona and an anonymous minor (16) of Pomona around 4 PM yesterday.
Corporal J. Hernandez (MCTF) announced, “Officers contacted two known Pomona gang members as they left a residence in the 1400 block of W. Holt Av. Through gathered intelligence and armed with a search warrant, officers responded to the minor’s residence and served a search warrant in the 1400 block of W. Holt Av. During a search of the residence, officers located a sawed-off shotgun, a large-caliber revolver and several live ammunition rounds.”
The two suspects were arrested for suspicion on alteration of a serial number to a firearm, gang member in possession of ammunition, gang member in possession of firearm, minor in possession of a firearm, minor in possession of ammunition, and a probation violation.
Arrellano was booked at the Pomona City Jail on a probation violation. The minor, who was arrested on several gun charges, was transported to a juvenile detention center.
