Sting Captures 75-Yr-Old Seeking a 14-Yr-Old for Sexual Encounter, Additional Victims Sought

TWENTYNINE PALMS – The San Bernardino Sheriffs Department has announced Morongo Basin Station’s capture and arrest of Joseph Colorossi (75) of Indio during an online operation soliciting a female juvenile.
Undercover investigators of the ‘Communication with a minor to commit illegal sexual acts’ sting heard from the suspect through Craigslist in February 2018.
SBSD announced. “Colorossi believed the investigator was a 14-year-old female, who lived in the city of Twentynine Palms. Colorossi sent sexual messages and explicit photos of himself to the investigator. Colorossi set up to meet the investigator, for purpose of sexual acts, at an undisclosed location in the city of Twentynine Palms.”
Reports stated. “On Thursday, February 15, 2018, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Colorossi arrived at the location to meet the juvenile. Detectives from the Morongo Basin Station, took Colorossi into custody, without incident. Colorossi brought a large amount of sexual items to the location”.
A search warrant was then served at his residence, revealing sexual encounters involving multiple female juveniles. Colorossi was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for a violation of Penal Code 288.3(a), contacting a minor to commit a felony. He is being held on a bail amount of $1,000,000.
