Fremont PD investigating possible murder-suicide on Third Street

FREMONT // Detectives are investigating a possible murder-suicide after finding two people and their dog dead from gunshot wounds during a welfare check.
On February 17th, patrol officers were dispatched to a home on the 37800 block of Third Street to check on the residents following a concerned call from family members who weren’t able to reach them. Inside, officers found a 56-year-old man, a 49-year-old woman, and a dog, all deceased.
All had visible gunshot wounds. The gun believed to have been used was found close to the man’s body.
Detectives arrived at the scene in the early evening to begin a preliminary investigation. Based on statements taken during interviews, as well as evidence collected at the scene, the incident is currently being investigated as a murder-suicide.
