Sheriff: Man arrested for murder of son in Klamath River

KLAMATH RIVER // The Siskiyou County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a 76-year-old man for the murder of his own son on the evening of Monday, February 12th.
That night, SCSO detectives arrived at a home on the 1000 block of Barkhouse Road after dispatch received a report of a shooting, allegedly from the shooter himself. At the scene, Sheriff’s Deputies found 40-year-old Henry Lee Mortensen suffering from a gunshot wound.
Despite the efforts of deputies and medical personnel, Mortensen was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies then spoke with 76-year-old Stanley Mortensen, who was still at the scene and questioned by detectives. He was later arrested on suspicion of murder and booked at the Siskiyou County Jail.
