LINCOLN // Police have arrested a local man after catching him with a loaded weapon and drug paraphernalia in his truck.
Just after 5 AM on March 1st, officers were patrolling the area of Green Ravine Drive in search of associates of a suspect they’d just arrested for auto burglary.
Officers saw a truck approach and suddenly make an abrupt turn, as if to avoid contact with them. The driver, later identified as 38-year-old Gerard Laspina, then led officers on a brief pursuit before finally being pulled over and arrested at Highway 65 and Ferrari Ranch Road.
After the arrest, officers searched his vehicle and discovered a loaded handgun and a meth pipe.
Laspina is charged with evading a peace officer, drug addict in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is now housed at the Placer County Jail.
