SANTA ROSA // 34-year-old Javier Luna Gines has been arrested after underage victims came forward with allegations of sexual abuse dating back up to 8 years.
On February 18th, the first victim — who is still under 18 — reported to an SRPD officer that she’d been molested by an acquaintance, later identified as Gines, multiple times about 8 years ago. A second victim was also interviewed but didn’t report any criminal behavior.
Nonetheless, investigators developed probable cause through the interviews to make an arrest.
On February 22nd, another family reported that their daughter had disclosed being assaulted by Gines around 5 years ago. When interviewed, the girl provided details that were similar to those given by the initial victim.
Gines was then arrested on March 6th. He is charged with two counts of sexual acts with a child 10 years old or younger and one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14.
