SAN FRANCISCO // Local police have announced the arrest of two people for a series of auto burglaries in Ghirardelli Square on February 25th.
That day, officers from Central Stations Plainclothes Unit arrived at Ghirardelli Square to investigate reports of multiple vehicle break-ins. At around 7:30 PM, they spotted an unidentified male who matched the suspect’s description standing on the corner of Beach and Larkin.
When officers learned that several vehicles had been burglarized in the immediate area and that a suspect vehicle had been seen driving through a nearby parking garage without paying the day before, a description of both the suspect and vehicle were broadcast.
Plainclothes officers watched a suspect approach and enter a vehicle matching the broadcast description and detained both him and one other who’d been sitting in the back seat. A firearm was also found in the car.
The primary suspect, later identified as 22-year-old Jalen Bryant of Oakland, was arrested for possession of burglary tools, possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, vandalism, and probation violation.
The second suspect, identified as 22-year-old Pride Scott of Antioch, was cited and released for possession of burglary tools and providing false ID to a peace officer.
