LOS ANGELES — A couple who ran the K-12 Enlightened Minds School were accused of sexually assaulting one of their 16-year-old female students in early 2000, and then they disappeared.
The two suspects allegedly assaulted the victim in an RV that was parked in front of their home. Assaults continued for several weeks beginning in February of 2000.
When the crimes were reported in March of that year, the couple fled and remained unnoticed until they were arrested in October of 2017 in Florida.
52-year-old Joseph Horace Green pleaded no contest to one count of sexual intercourse and sodomy of a person under 18 years of age.
43-year-old Chanell Nicola Warren pleaded no contest to 2 counts of oral copulation of a person under 18 years of age.
Both were sentenced to 3 years in state prison and a requirement to register as sex offenders.
