SAN BERNARDINO – On Easter Sunday night the SBSD encountered a 16-year-old female working as a prostitute near Spruce and G Streets.
As the girl was being taken to CPS, she jumped out of the car and ran to a motel where she was located once more. This time a male suspect was also discovered with her. 24-year-old Colton resident Brandon Avery.
Authorities discovered $1400 in cash, condoms and “other items consistent with prostitution activity.” They also found advertisements with the victim’s picture, determining that Avery had been “managing the victim’s advertisement.”
Avery was charged with human trafficking and pandering of a minor. His bail is set at $115,000.
The SBSD says, “Investigators believe there are other unidentified victims related to this case and are asking that anyone with information related to this investigation, please contact the San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force at (909)387-8400.
