FORTUNA – On Wednesday afternoon the FPD came upon a wanted attempted murder suspect in a vehicle with another man.
The HCSD was called in to help in the pursuit. Cortez Lamont Little went onto 101 South, reaching speeds that exceeded 100 mph.
Residents of the small community of Honeydew were aware of the pursuit that headed to their community. As the fleeing vehicle went onto a one-lane bridge, a local resident parked his PT Cruiser at the end of the bridge, blocking Little in on it.
Little stopped, and then there was a “tense standoff” before he was arrested.
The HCSD says, “Little is facing extradition to Tennessee on his felony warrant, in addition to the following charges: felony evading, kidnapping, possession of marijuana for sales, reckless driving and driving the wrong way on a divided highway.”
The passenger, Christopher Earl Mallory, was charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana for sales.
