A lemon tree field in Lindsay, California had its own Peter Rabbit. After multiple instances of lemons going missing, employees had a chance to capture the thief or thieves in action. With pictures in hand, they phoned the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office and made a report.
Mid-morning on Tuesday, April 3rd, as deputies were at the field located on the 1000 block of Citrus Avenue, the scene of the crime, the very car they were looking for, the one in the pictures taken by the employees, drove by!
The car was pulled over without incident and the driver, 49-year old Francisco Magana Lemus, was identified as one of the people in the pictures stealing lemons.
In the trunk of his car were oranges, many oranges, confirmed to be stolen. Lemus was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property.
