SHASTA LAKE CITY – At 2:00 am on Tuesday morning the SCSD received a call about a man with a knife running through the neighborhood and making threats. It was reported that he specifically declared that “everyone is going to die.”
Deputies heard a commotion coming from the inside of a home in the 4400 block of Vallecito Street. They encountered the owner and three residents standing outside, who reported that the intoxicated suspect broke his way into the house and threatened them.
Ismael Hernandez Porras would not leave the house even as deputies ordered him out with a public address speaker. Soon they were able to approach a window and look inside, where they observed Porras bleeding on the floor.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for his self-inflicted wounds. He was then charged with assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a knife and vandalism. He was already on parole for assault.
