WHISKEYTOWN LAKE – Early on Wednesday morning a representative of the SCSO conducted the infamous “traffic stop” on Highway 299.
The driver, 46-year-old Weaverville resident Frances Desmond, was driving on a suspended license. Then K9 Thor walked around the vehicle and performed a “free air sniff.”
Thor gave indication that controlled substances were inside the vehicle and a subsequent search yielded 2 pounds of meth and $1,500.
Desmond was booked for transportation of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sales and driving on a suspended license.
