CAMERON PARK – On Sunday a deputy from the EDCSD spotted a car going at a high rate of speed on eastbound Highway 50. Once the driver was aware of attracting law enforcement’s attention, he veered over to the right hand side of the road and threw something out of the car.
After exiting at Cambridge Road, the vehicle stopped. Officers retrieved the two tossed bags, which contained two pounds of meth.
25-year-old Placerville resident Anthony Ruiz was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale, transportation of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of ammunition.
The saga continued as officers then went to Ruiz’ home. The home of the already convicted felon and the vehicles there contained a total of 4.6 pounds of marijuana, a loaded 9mm handgun and a pound of heroin.
A female at the home, 25-year-old Frances Quigley, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and conspiracy.
