You would think that if a person had “a stack of warrants” out on them that they would do their best to keep a low profile and obey as much of the law as possible, so as to avoid the attention of law enforcement.
For instance, doing something as basic as stopping for a stop sign comes to mind as a way to lay low.
However, 35-year-old Richard Wallace was not thinking this way on Sunday when we ran the stop sign at Waterloo Road and Rhode Island Avenue.
When deputies saw this infraction, they turned on their lights and sirens. Wallace decided to try and drive away, another decision soon proven to be futile.
After a chase that the SJSO described as “short,” detectives discovered that the suspect had “numerous no bail warrants that included violation of probation, domestic battery and possession of a controlled substance.”
And, oh yes, he was also cited for running the stop sign.
