Anaheim – Last night, Traffic Investigators of Anaheim Police Department announced the arrest of the fatal pedestrian hit-and-run suspect, Kelvin Ta (47).
The search was launched via social media when “APD Officers were dispatched to Brookhurst Street south of Ball Road around 9:48 pm Saturday evening regarding a body in the roadway. Officers found a 54-year-old male deceased in the roadway. Evidence suggested the male had been struck by a vehicle, possibly a silver Honda or Acura, but the driver and vehicle had fled the scene.”
APD released information seeking a silver vehicle with a missing driver’s side mirror.
The outrage of someone leaving a pedestrian to die in the street led to a public tip, guiding investigators to the location of Ta’s 2002 silver Acura 3.2 TLS parked on the 2100 block of West Juno Avenue.
Kelven Ta was arrested Tuesday afternoon, then booked at the Anaheim Detention Facility for felony hit and run causing injury or death.
Anaheim PD announced, “Ta was released on the statutorily imposed bond of $100,000 pending court proceedings.”
Social media has had plenty to say about Ta’s release, as well. An anonymous individual has posted that his coworker was left to die in the road, while the suspect is now able to walk the streets.
Anaheim PD is commending everyone for the community teamwork excellence.
