FERNDALE – On Wednesday morning the HCSO sent deputies to a residence on the 400 block of Camp Weott Raod concerning a burglary that had just occurred.
The female victim came home and discovered two unknown males in her barn stealing items from her.
The victim confronted the would-be thieves, who returned the stolen power tools and fled, apparently stealing other items. She was able to take photos of the duo before they fled.
After an announcement was put out, members of the Fortuna PD saw the suspect’s vehicle parked on the 3400 block of School Street.
One suspect was in the vehicle and the other was in a residence nearby.
27-year-old Arcata resident Brandon Lee Buchholz and 30-year-old Eureka resident Ryan Matthew Whittington were arrested and charged with grand theft. Whittington added a probation violation charge.
The HBSO reports that all of the stolen property was returned to the victim.
