ROSEVILLE – On April 28 a woman had her purse taken from her grocery cart in the Walmart parking lot on Pleasant Grove.
Soon thereafter a citizen called concerning two suspicious characters at a bank ATM machine in Granite Bay.
Officers responded and quickly ascertained that the pair were both on searchable probation.
Folsom residents Joseph Smith (54) and Kari Marie Jackson (33) were in possession of the woman’s purse and promptly booked on charges of identity theft, conspiracy, elder abuse, possession of stolen property and possession of an opium pipe.
The grateful victim was so happy that her purse and its contents were returned to her in such a timely manner.
