RICHMOND — Two brothers remain in police custody for allegedly beating to death another man last weekend—after arguing about buying some alcohol.
Richmond police officers responded to a call on May 6 about an ongoing assault in Lucas Park at approximately 9 p.m., near the 700 block of 10th Street.
When responding officers arrived at the park they saw two men assaulting the victim who was lying on the ground. Police said the two suspects immediately fled when they saw the approaching officers.
The victim identified as 38-year-old Felix Perez Itzep died at the scene due to injuries sustained during the violent assault, police said.
Officers set up a perimeter in the surrounding area and searched for the two suspects. With help of a police dog, officers quickly found one of the suspect hiding in some bushes.
The suspect Adrian Domingo, 24, was arrested and questioned for several hours before he confessed his role in the assault leading to the victim’s death.
Police said investigating officers learned that the victim was assaulted by two brothers following an argument about purchasing some alcohol.
The second suspect 18-year-old Omar Domingo was arrested shortly afterward, and police said he also confessed his role in the assault leading to the victim’s death.
Both brothers were charged with murder by the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office on May 9. Both remain in custody at the Martinez Detention Facility, with bond for their release set at $1 million each.
