Shots were fired early Sunday morning in the area of Cornelia and Olive Ave in Fresno. As deputies were on route to the intersection, a second report came in about a car crashing into a tree in the same area as the shooting.
Deputies spotted the single vehicle involved in the accident, a red Hyundai Sonata, which crashed with such force, it knocked down a large palm tree.
Tony Botti, Spokesman for Fresno County’s Sheriff’s Department stated, “Our deputies get out there find a woman inside the vehicle, she is the only one inside, they can see that she is seriously injured. So they pull her out try to do CPR she ends up passing away, and they take a closer look and they find out she’s been shot multiple times.”
The woman was 32-year old Brittney Taylor of Fresno. Homicide detectives were called in and sealed off the area.
Witness accounts gave detectives the backstory. Taylor was at the intersection arguing with a man later identified as her boyfriend, 29-year old Terrence Boston of Fresno. Shots were heard and both parties got into their cars and sped away, Taylor in her Sonata, and Boston in his white semi-truck.
On Monday morning authorities found Boston via a traffic stop. After being interviewed he was arrested and booked into Fresno County Jail for the murder of his girlfriend, Brittney Taylor, with bail is at at $1 million. Boston also had warrants out for criminal threats and domestic abuse, for which bail is not eligible.
