NEWCASTLE – On May 8 37-year-old Ricky Dell Cox was arrested for burglarizing a Newcastle home back in early April.
The suspect opened a sliding glass door in order to gain entry into the home and left matching fingerprints behind. Surveillance camera photos showed a silver silver VW near the home at the same time as the burglary.
Cox was already on probation in Sacramento County. When he showed up as a passenger in a silver VW, he was arrested at the Sacramento County probation office.
Once arrested, authorities found that Cox was in possession of a stolen, loaded firearm, a stun gun and tear gas, as well as meth and heroin.
The victim of the residential burglary identified jewelry found in Cox’s car as her own. Cox’s driver, 29-year-old Keisha Dague, was arrested for having two no-bail warrants out on her from Sacramento County.
Cox was charged with burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, selling stolen property, being an addict in possession of a firearm, possession of heroin and meth, and being a felon in possession of a stun gun and tear gas. His bail is $100,000.
