SALINAS – An armed robbery occurred at the Wells Fargo at 1903 Natividad Road on Wednesday afternoon.

After producing a note to the bank employee that said he had a gun and demanded money from her employer, the male suspect ran on E. Boronda Road with his take.

The older, bald Hispanic wore a gray hoodie, blue jeans and white shoes.

The bank robber, later identified as 47-year-old Marcus Trujillo, went to Mod Pizza and asked to use the restroom. He offered employees there $100 for their kindness and, when they refused his generous offer, he “gave an employee $50 for being honest.”

Trujillo bought two pizzas and a beer with $100, then went to Ike’s for a sandwich, where he was arrested.  Three Wells Fargo employees identified him as the robber.
