SACRAMENTO – Once again the use of ShotSpotter helped locate an area duo as they cruised Sacramento streets shooting their gun.
On the evening of May 10 the SCSD began “receiving ShotSpotter activations in South Sacramento.” Four minutes later they received a call about a shooting.
Responding deputies did not find any victims but they did get descriptions of the shooters. Two hours later at 35 Avenue and Martin Luther King Boulevard detectives noticed a vehicle matching the description they sought.
Detectives detained 46-year-old Derick Paradise and 40-year-old Meay Saechao. Their vehicle contained a loaded 12 gauge shotgun and a semi-automatic 9mm handgun. SCSD notes that neither gun was registered to the pair.
Paradise and Saechao were “booked on charges pertaining to illegal firearms possession and discharging a firearm in a negligent manner.”
