WATSONVILLE – A man challenged and then fired upon another person as the victim sat in a parked car. The incident occurred on April 18 when Juan Hernandez approached the victim.
The Scene
Herrnandez made gang references and pointed his gun at the man.
The suspect then fired a shot “in the victim’s direction” but missed. Consequently, Hernandez left the scene. Subsequent investigation led to the identification of the suspect, a local gang member.
The Arrest
On May 2, officers located Hernandez in a car on Green Valley Road near Freedom Boulevard. Afterward, a search warrant of his home produced more incriminating evidence.
Police charged Hernandez with attempted murder, shooting into a vehicle and gang enhancements.
