CRESCENT CITY – K-9 Kai recently assisted in a drug arrest that followed a traffic stop.
On May 12 the CCPD, CHP and Del Norte Sheriff’s Office worked together to make this arrest. The incident occurred around Highway 101 and Elk Valley Cross Road.
Kai properly executed his task, alerting his fellow officers to the presence of drugs in a vehicle they stopped.
Officers seized 11.2 grams of cocaine and $4,545 in cash.
Police arrested Maximo Perez on warrant. 37-year old Jeremiah Geronimo and 21-year-old Javier Perez faced charges of possession of cocaine. In addition, they face charges of possession of cocaine for sale.
