POLLOCK PINES – A jury found 60-year-old Barry Allen Cornelius guilty for resisting a peace officer and accessory after the fact.
On January 30 two corrections agents went to Cornelius’ house after they received a tip. The tip alleged that the suspect had Colin Bowers, a wanted parolee, hiding in his home.
After many knocks on the door by the officers, Cornelius came walking out. He denied Bowers’ presence in the house. The two officers split up and watched both the front and back of the residence.
Soon, they saw three males, including Bowers and Cornelius, attempting to exit the premises. The officers detained Bowers without incident, but Cornelius showed his unhappiness by pushing one of them.
On May 16 the jury found Cornelius guilty of his two aforementioned charges, and he will be sentenced on June 8.
