Robbery suspect charged with attempted murder

MILPITAS – The MPD arrested a man who attacked a 7-11 clerk with a knife in order to rob the store.   Consequently the robbery suspect now faces charges of attempted murder.

On May 25, police received a call about the stabbing at 190 West Calaveras Blvd.  When investigators arrived, they discovered that an altercation with a would-be robber and store clerk had turned deadly.

As the store clerk stocked items on the shelf, Terlep approached him from behind at 2:50 pm. The suspect stabbed the 19-year-old clerk multiple times while demanding money from the register.

Unsteady from the attack, the clerk called 9-1-1, reporting his injuries to police.  The victim received treatment at a local hospital, treated for life-threatening stab wounds sustained during the attack.

Police identified 46-year-old Noland Patrick Kalani Terlep of San Jose as the suspect. Authorities found Terlep near his home parked alongside the 2300 block of Canoas Garden Avenue in San Jose.

Terlep ‘s charges are attempted murder, attempted robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
