UPLAND – A man discovered that his property was stolen early yesterday morning from his Upland home. Just a few hours later, the victim saw some of it brazenly featured for sale on the website “Offer-Up.”
Would you go meet up with the suspect to retrieve your property? He did. The victim greeted the suspect, who then pulled a gun on him.
Subsequently, a struggle ensued, and the suspect fired one shot but it did not strike anyone.
A “Shots Fired” call drew an immediate response to the 100 Block of N. 13th Ave. The suspect was one step ahead of the situation again. UPD declared, “The suspect fled before officers arrived on scene.”
UPD added, “After conducting a thorough investigation, officers and detectives were able to identify and track the suspect down to a house in Ontario.”
Consequently, the detective bureau and weekend dayshift officers sprang into action. A brief foot pursuit produced an apprehended suspect and a recovered gun. Top gun prevailed.
The UPD press release did not name the arrested suspect.
